Chestnut Gets the Green Light

The final permit approvals from the City of Fresno for the entire Chestnut Avenue project have been received and the construction crews have remobilized.  Crews this week are staking for curb, gutter, and road pavement in order to reopen the western portion of Chestnut Avenue between Shaw and Barstow by the end of the month.

Pressure testing of the new water lines is also underway.  Once these lines are tested and approved by the City, the traffic control north of Bullard Avenue can be removed and paving will be completed.

Repair of an old leaking Fresno Irrigation District irrigation line is also occurring at the Barstow/Chestnut intersection.  Once this repair is completed, that portion of Barstow Avenue east of the intersection will be repaved.

The University Recognizes the inconvenience this project has caused the campus community and is doing everything they can to reopen critical sections of Chestnut Avenue as soon as possible.
