Tip of the Week: Recognize Black History Month
Black History Month is celebrated in the month of February. It is to remember and to honor people and events that happened over four hundred years ago. By checking out the History Channel website (http://www.history.com/content/blackhistory ) for more information on slavery, inventors, civil rights leaders, and the milestones’ that reach to this point of having the first black present of the United States. There are many events being hosting around campus in honor of Black History Month such as:

Portraits of Courage is an examination of overlooked African-Americans and their contributions to American history. Surprised at the absence of African- American figures in today’s history books, playwright Colin Cox created a theatrical piece to help bring recognition to a few of those who have helped shaped our country.
Also if you want to take a trip into the past like walk the streets of Montgomery, Alabama as Rosa Parks or Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, well there’s one place that you can do that which is only a hour and a half drive. Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park is the first town in California to be founded, financed and governed by African Americans. The State Park is also hosting an event in honor of Black History Month.

Kentucky Burglar Turns Himself and Partner in to Collect Reward
Brandon Pennington, 20, and Scotty Moore, 26, allegedly broke the window of McKinney´s Food Mart in Clay City, then left with 17 cartons of cigarettes.
When the store owner offered a reward for information, Pennington jumped at the offer and returned with a carton of cigarettes and an article of clothing seen on the store video. The "evidence" backfired as he couldn´t explain having them.
The two Clay City men are being held on $10,000 bail. A third unidentified man is being sought as the getaway driver.

Man Tries to Rob a Bank - Staff Laugh at Him
A man was not lucky on early closing day on Wednesday in Kircheim in Austria when he tried to get into a bank with his gun, demanding to be let in. However, despite the bank being closed, its staff were still in.
They took part in a training session and laughed at him when he was hammering on the door. Finally the would-be robber - wearing a Barack Obama mask - gave it up and fled to his getaway car.
A bank spokesman said that the after-hours training session was needed because the bank was robbed twice before.

Priest Caught Buying Cocaine
Philadelphia police announced that they arrested and charged a Roman Catholic priest with drug charges. He allegedly was in possession of a "small quantity" of cocaine.
James B. Shimsky is a priest in the Diocese of Scranton. He was arrested on January 30th in North Philadelphia after narcotic officers saw him engage in a drug deal at 10:40 a.m.
He was driving a silver Jeep Liberty, and when they stopped him, they found a small amount of cocaine in the vehicle. Shimsky was ordained in 2001 and served as a pastor of St. John Vianney Parish in Scott Township. He is now on a leave of absence.

Chinese Cheesecake
Ingredients:
× Canola oil, for frying
× 8 tablespoons cream cheese
× 3 tablespoons ricotta cheese
× 2 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar (1 1/2 for mix, 1 tablespoon for garnish)
× 1 egg
× 3 tablespoons milk
× 10 thick egg roll skins
× 1 cup raspberries, fresh preferred
× 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Heat 1-inch of canola oil in large saute pan, to 325 degrees F.
- In a bowl mix the cream cheese, ricotta, and 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar with a whip, until thoroughly blended.
- Beat egg and milk together. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons of cheese mix in center back of egg roll skin and place 4 to 6 raspberries in the center of cheese mixture.
- Brush egg wash around edges of skin, fold left and right sides of skin in 1/2-inch, and then roll from back to front, insuring that the roll is sealed.
- Place in oil and cook both sides until golden brown. Let drain on paper towels for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Dust with cinnamon and sugar. Serve with whipped cream and raspberries, if desired.
