Tip of the Week: Give Back

As college students we always find things to do on campus such as attend sporting events, theater performances and music concerts. Now there is one more thing students can do on-campus that gives back to the community. Participate in the USU Canned Food Drive ’09: Supporting the Bulldog Pantry, now through Sunday December 13th and help your surrounding community this winter season!  Donate what every person deserves and needs: food. Not only are you giving back to the community but also building a stronger bond with student body by giving back.

Donations can be dropped off at:
* The Student Involvement Center in USU Room 306
* USU Recreation Center

Man Sleeps Next to Dead Wife For 5 Years

In Hanoi Vietnam, Le Van had a difficult time dealing with the death of his wife. When his wife died in 2003, he would sleep on the grave at night. When it got to cold and wet, he made a tunnel into the grave to sleep with his dead wife.

He wasn't able to continue this for very long though because his children found out. In 2004, Le Van dug up his wife's remains and molded clay around them to make the form of a woman. He then dressed the form and slept with it in bed.

The remains of his wife are still in his bed to this day. Neighbors have not visited Le Van's house is several years. Le was quoted saying, "I'm a person that does things differently, I'm not like normal people."

1,300 Cats Saved From Becoming Dinner

Beijing: 1,300 cats had been locked up in cages, waiting to be shipped to meat dealers, but were saved by more than 100 pet lovers.

A base in Tianjin will be established to keep the cats and a campaign will be launched to fund bases for abandoned animals in ten large cities.

Wang, the leader of the cat rescue, said "The number of rescued animals is numerous, while the accommodation at the base is rather limited. Perhaps no more than 20 percent of the rescued cats can be held."
